FOOTINGS
Saturday, July 17th the masons started preparing the footing forms. The temperature reached 100 degrees.

They finished the forms on Monday. Tuesday the building inspector checked out everything. Everything was ok except the footing has to be stepped up over the sewer line.
We were ready for the pour on Wednsday July 24th. It was a hot day. Chutes were rented to get the cement to the far end.

To level out the base, 10 tons of 3/8" gravel was delivered. About half was used.

I was pleased with the progress. Elaine, on the other hand doesn't look sure.

In between the inspections and the footing prep, the workers had some time to harvest rocks from the site. They were piled up by the patio. I pressure washed them to get a look at the coloring.

Next is the block wall construction.
